Outdoor Games

One person is "IT ". IT counts to three then chases around the other players and when IT touches someone, that person is "frozen". The frozen person cannot mover or he is out . The only way they can become unfrozen is if another player who is not yet frozen touches them. Play continues until two players are left (IT must be one of those players). The two try and touch each other first and the one touched is now frozen. The one left unfrozen is IT for the next game.

This game is based on the traditional tag games: one person is it and runs to catch the other players But instead of having one safety, safety is anything that you can climb up on top of. So, for example, if you are playing this game outside, you can jump up on a step, a tree branch, the porch, and you will be safe.

One person plays the cat. The others stand in a circle around the cat. The cat puts his/her hands over their eyes and repeats "three blind mice, see how they run" as many times between 5 and ten that he likes. When the cat is ready, instead of saying three blind mice, see how they run, he says, see how they run NOW - The mice run away and the cat tries to catch them, the one to be caught then becomes the cat & the game goes on this way.

You need a stopwatch or someone to watch the clock for you. Have a starting point and a finish line. Line players up. Each player must run a certain distance, holding a spoon with a tennis ball or an egg on it. The players take turns running. If the tennis ball (egg) falls off the spoon, the player must put it in the spoon again and continue to run. If using eggs and the egg breaks, the player is out. The player who covered the distance in the shortest time is the winner.
